Johnson set to extend point-of-care direct billing solution for affinity group members

 St John’s, Newfoundland  (June 19, 2013) –  Starting this fall, Johnson Inc., one of Canada’s leading providers of insurance products and benefits programs, has chosen to extend its point-of-care claims solution for its affinity groups and their members to include chiropractors, physiotherapists, vision care specialists, and other allied healthcare providers.  For more than 130 years, Johnson has been delivering home and auto insurance and group benefits programs to Canadians.

Johnson is committed to doing what’s right for its clients, and the TELUS Health eClaims solution is exactly in line with its culture of service. Johnson is the first third-party administrator of group benefits plans to offer point-of-care claims service for allied healthcare providers to its plan members.

In less than three years, TELUS Health has grown its eClaims platform to the point where today, more than 16,000 allied healthcare providers offer their patients the benefit of eClaims at point of care.  More than 85% of Canadian private insurance plan members can take advantage of this service.

Patients benefit from receiving confirmation of their coverage and any amount they must pay upfront. They reduce their out-of-pocket expenses, since they only pay the portion of services not covered by their plan. Johnson has also built a direct reimbursement, electronic fund transfer (EFT) feature into its eClaims solution, further enhancing the experience for healthcare providers and streamlining processing.
